Special Education Teacher Support Services (SETSS)
Special Education Teacher Support Services (SETSS) is a program that is designed as supplemental instruction for special education teachers. The goal of our SETSS provider at SEA is to help the child remain in the general classroom as much as possible. SETSS entails therapeutic interventions that can run from a few hours a week or on a daily basis depending on the child’s IEP.
Direct Instruction for SETSS
A modified curriculum that uses:
- visual aids
- highlighted work sheets to track the child’s progress
- clear-cut directions or modified instructions that will help the child understand school concepts and/or exercises better
Indirect Instruction for SETSS
The Specialty Education Teacher will work with the General Education Teacher to adjust the learning environment or the curriculum being used. The General Education Teacher can also adapt instructional techniques that will help the child cope with the learning pace of his or her peers.
